It's almost Turkey Day and I was chatting w/ my friend Craig and he described his stuffing. Had to have it.

  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 black pepper
  • 1 garlic powder
  • 1 loaf sourdough french bread day old is best
  • parts of other breads at your discretion (wheat, cornbread, etc)
  • 1/2 lb italian sausage cooked
  • 1 apple peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 c walnuts chopped
  • 1 can sliced olives drained
  • 3 stalks celery
  • 1 cup chicken broth (up to 2)
  • seasonings:
  • 1 sage
  • 1 thyme
  • 1 rosemary
  • 1 parsley

The night before: Break up the breads and toss w/ dried seasonings, cover. Add the remaining ingredients. Place in buttered 9x13 pan and bake at 325 for 1 hour. Stuffing may dry out, just add more chicken broth as needed.
