I don't know where this recipe came from. Most likely there are lots of variations on this theme. It's truly comfort food. Add vegetables if you want and use ground turkey instead of ground beef. Serve with a tossed green salad and warm baked bread.

  • 2 cups cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
  • 1 package tater tots
  • 2 cans cream of mushroom soup undiluted
  • 1 tsp dried onion

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line the bottom of a 13x9 inch baking pan with frozen tater tots and set aside. Brown hamburger (or ground turkey) in a frying pan. Add salt and pepper, dried onion, and worcestershire sauce. When meat is cooked throughly, drain fat and return to pan. Add soups and 1 cup milk. Heat until bubbly, stirring constantly. Pour mixture over tater tots. Bake 20 to 30 minutes at 375 degrees. Remove from oven and top with shredded cheese. Return to oven and bake just until cheese is melted.
