  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups water i use bottled so that it doesn't contain chlorine and warm it for 45 sec in microwave (just to take the chill off)

Add egg to large bowl and mix until smooth. Add vegetable oil while warming the water. Add the sugar, salt, and water. Mix the ingredients. Add three cups of flour and the yeast. Mix, if very wet continue to add the last cup of flour and gently mix with fingers. Continue adding flour until dough comes together. Let rest for 15 minutes. Punch it down with more flour (you can spray your hands with Pam to keep them from picking up so much dough) and let rest another 15 minutes. Punch it down again, using a little flour if necessary. Pour out onto flour dusted table (use a non-stick pad if you have one). Form the dough into a ball. Form the dough into small balls (1.5" diam, .75" tall) onto a Pam sprayed cookie sheet. Either mist with water or put a little butter on the outside to keep them moist. Let them rise for 60 minutes or so. Bake at 350 until slightly brown, approximately 15-18 minutes.
