Add half and half and simmer until slightly reduced, scraping up browned bits, about 3 minutes. Add spinach and nutmeg. Stir until spinach mixture thickens slightly, about 2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Spoon creamed spinach into 2 plates. Cut ham steak in half; place atop spinach and serve.
