  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 medium green bell pepper chopped
  • 1 pound ground turkey or italian sausage
  • 1 large yellow onion chopped
  • 1 cup crimini mushrooms sliced
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, peeled pressed
  • 2 (30 ounce) cans hunts tomato sauce
  • 4 tablespoons italian seasoning or to taste

1. In 7qt Dutch Oven or large sauce pan, brown the turkey and drain, then return to pan 2. Add onions, peppers, mushrooms, garlic, salt & pepper, and Italian seasoning to the pan. Sauté until the vegetables are tender (approx 8minutes) 3. Once onions and peppers are tender, add the tomato sauce and simmer for 5 minutes. Taste and add salt and pepper to taste. You can also add more Italian seasoning if desired. 4. Serve over you favorite pasta.
