You can use this sauce with meatballs or Italian Sausage. I usually double or triple this for my family.

  • 2 slices onion - browned in tlb oil
  • 2 cans tomato paste
  • 6 cans water
  • 1/2 teaspoon sweet basil
  • 1 med bay leaf
  • 3 tablespoons sugar (the secret ingredient), up to 4

Bring ingredients to a boil then simmer 45 min to an hour. Add meatballs or sausage (my family likes hot) and simmer until thick. Spoon a little sauce into cooked mostaccioli noodles. Spoon more sauce over noodles and sausage when serving.
