Add olive oil to pan, add onion and garlic and cook until transparent (do not allow garlic to burn). Add wine and allow to cook down for a minute or so. Add the crushed tomatoes, basil, parsley and season to taste with salt and pepper. At this point I would add any meat (meatballs, stew meat, chopped meat sausage) that has already been browned, in another pan or oven, and drained. Doing this cuts down on the amount of fat in the sauce. Cook on stove top for about 2 hours or in crock pot for 4 hours.
