This is Alan's longtime recipe. It is very similar to what I used to make.

  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 pound ground beef browned
  • 1 jalapeno seeded and diced
  • 1 can tomato juice
  • onion (to taste) diced
  • 1 large can chili beans
  • 2 tablespoons + chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon + tabasco sauce

Brown ground beef with onions (if desired) and put all ingredients in a crock pot and cook on low for several hours. I cook my all afternoon. Notes from Alan: He likes a lot of beans and likes it on the hotter side so he uses more of the hot ingredients. He likes it thicker so he doesn't use the whole can of tomato juice. Use juice to make your preferred thickness. Alan doesn't use onions.
