Sometimes when making this one I divide the batter in two an add a bit of chocolate powder to one batch. Pour the batter without chocolate into the pan. Add the chocolate batter on top and run a knife through for a marbled effect. Sometimes I also add slivered nuts on top.

  • 1 t vanilla extract
  • 2 c sugar
  • 1 c milk
  • 3 c flour
  • 5 ts baking powder

Mix butter, sugar and eggs in a large bowl. Next add vanilla extract. Stir in milk and then baking powder. Fold flour in gently. Bake at 350F for 30 minutes or until cake center bounces back from slight pressure. NOTES : This also make good cupcakes. I filled regular sized cupcake pan 3/4 full and baked at 350F for about 18-20 minutes. This made about 20 cupcakes.
