  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 whole star anise
  • 9 apples i used fuji, peeled, cored and chopped
  • 28 figs medjool, stemmed and halved
  • 3 tbsp cinnamon i use fresh and ground it at home
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves i use whole and grind with cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg i grate whole nutmeg
  • 4-5 tbsp vanilla cognac
  • 2-3 tbsp grand marnier
  • dash kosher salt
