I made this for a bridal shower and it was a huge hit! I could not find the Challa bread so I replaced with the Hawaiian dinner roles. Served it with a ham, berries and a choice of jams or syrup.

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 8 eggs
  • 1 pound challa bread (about one loaf)
  • 3 cups plain, vanilla or rasberry yoghurt

Cut bread into one-inch cubes and set aside. Beat eggs in a large glass or ceramic mixing bowl. Add yoghurt, syrup, sugar, salt, and cinnamon, mixing well. Add cubed bread and stir to coat all pieces well. Pour into a greased 13x9-inch pan. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350°F for about 30 minutes or until golden.
