*May be doubled to make soup thicker Large saute pan on med/high heat. Add olive oil, heat. Add carrots, celery, onion, garlic, saute 4-5 min. Add beans, chilies, broth. Stir. Add salt, pepper, chili powder, cumin, oregano and bay leaf. Simmer uncovered for 20-25 minutes. Remove. If desired, put in blender and puree. Squeeze in juice from 1 lime. I like to garnish with tortilla chip, avocado and cheese.
