After seeing many online, I had to tweak it to make it something my entire family would like.

  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 (750 ml) bottle cabernet sauvignon wine
  • 1 cup ruby port
  • 2 large garlic cloves peeled and slightly crushed
  • 1 large shallot peeled halved
  • 1 drippings from smoked prime rib
  • 1 bottle of johnny's au jus sauce

Mix all ingredients together in a non-aluminum non-stick pot. bring to simmer. Slowly stir in Au Jus Mix, (I usually only use 2/3 of a bottle... but I love my wine). Let simmer for approx 1 hour. Remove bay leaf, and serve!
