Kalbi Sauce

Kalbi Sauce
Kalbi Sauce
Being so far from Hawaii and not having any Korean restaurant close by, I have to make my own Korean food. Meat Juhn, Kalbi, Namul, etc. all need to be homemade. I do have a large Korean store about 30 minutes away. No Yummy's Korean BBQ though. This sauce is a great basic kalbi sauce that you can use on short ribs, steak, or chicken. The most important factor is marinating time. Make sure you give yourself time to marinate it overnight.

Mix all ingredients together and marinate your short ribs (or other meat) overnight. Cook on the grill or broil. I usually make a double recipe to marinate about 4-5 pounds of short ribs in 2 (gallon sized) Ziploc bags.
