  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup quick cooking oats
  • 1/4 cup butter- melted completely
  • 1/2 cup chopped peeled tart apple ( i used granny smith)
  • 12 caramels, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons butter melted completely

In a large bow combine the floud, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. In another bowl, whisk the egg, milk, butter, and vanilla. Stir into dry ingredients just until moistened. Fold in apples and caramel.Fill paper-lined muffin cups ¾ full. Combine topping ingredients and sprinkle over the batter.Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool for 5 minutes and then serve warm.
