This will put a smile on your face. I use this dipping sauce as a marinade as well. You can even use it as a basting sauce for chicken, shrimp, and even beef! But I love Chinese dumplings and this is where it gets used the most. Try to make a few hours ahead and serve at room temperature.

  • 1 inch chunk ginger root peeled and minced
  • 8 tablespoons pearl river soy sauce
  • 6 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 2 scallions (thinly chopped), green parts only
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar yellow rock if you have it
