  • 3/4 cup unsweetened nut milk
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen peaches chopped or 1 apple
  • 2 tablespoons pecans or walnuts chopped
  • 1 medjool date optional--to sweeten naturally

In small saucepan, bring water and salt to a boil, add grain and spice, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer until grain is tender, stirring occasionally. Be careful not to overcook. Top with fruit and nuts. NOTE: recipe is 1 serving of 1/2 cup cooked whole grain, for slim down plan, double for a couple, x4 for family of 4. Grain cooking times follow each recipe. To naturally sweeten add 1 pitted and chopped Medjool date to boiling water or nut milk. TIME SAVING TIP: cook a large batch of your favorite whole grain to reheat throughout the week.
