Simmer for awhile. If you stick a fork in the potatoes and they are firm the soup should be ready. This will make a lot of soup! Also soup is better the second day. I like to make one night refrigerate over night and heat the next night. Heat only what you want to eat. You don't want to over cook the potatoes. Don't forget the saltine crackers! I'm sure Grammy will add a little love to your soup!
