The coleslaw I grew up with. It's a mustard-based slaw with a little sweetness to balance the bite of the mustard. This was always present at our cookouts, and was a great companion to burgers and hot dogs.

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 head cabbage shredded
  • 3/4 cup oil
  • 1 cup mustard

1. Mix mustard, oil, sugar, salt and pepper in a small bowl til fully combined 2. Pour mustard mixture over shredded cabbage in a large bowl and mix until cabbage is fully coated 3. Cover bowl and refrigerate overnight 4. Remove from refrigerator and serve
