This has been the pancake recipe for my family since I was able to eat them. I don't know where my mother got this recipe but it's the best I've ever had. They rise up nice and high. I sometimes add vanilla and spices like cinnamon and nutmeg. Very tasty!! by Hobbyzu

  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. milk
  • 5 tsp. baking powder
  • 6 tbsp. sugar
  • 3 c. all purpose flour , sifted
  • 6 tbsp. vegetable oil

Mix all ingredients together thoroughly. Do not overmix or they won't rise. A few lumps is fine. Heat a skillet with a little oil to a med-low heat. Using a 1/4 c.measure, scoop out the batter and pour into pan. Turn pancakes over once bubbles start to form and fry until brown.. Serve warm with butter and syrup.
