  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup 100% bran
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons soda
  • 2 cups branbuds

Mix boiling water and 100% Brand and set aside. Cream the shortening and sugar. Add eggs, buttermilk and soaked Bran. Sift dry ingredients and add to above liquid. Mix. Fold in Brand Buds until moistened. Store in refrigerator until ready to use, Bake at 400 degrees for about 14 minutes. Batter will keep in ref. for a few weeks.
