I originally obtained this recipe through my mother, but over the years I have tweaked and bent it till I got this exact recipe, and I have made these rolls many many many times and for all occasions , they are a sure win every time. they are light, full of flavor and buttery. enjoy! 60 rolls

  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 5 large eggs
  • 3 1/2 cups water (110 degrees f)
  • 1 1/4 ounces yeast (do not use the quick rising in this recipe)
  • 2 cups unsalted butter melted
  • 16 cups flour

1. In a large bowl, combine sugar, water, yeast, let sit for about 5 - 10 minutes , or till frothy. 2. Slowly add in butter, egg, and salt, mix well preferrably with a dough hook. 3. Add flour, 1 cup at a time and beat in as much as you can. 4. Place in a greased bowl, cover with saram wrap and let rise ( double in size). 5Grease a 13x9 baking pan. 6Turn dough out onto floured surface. 7Divide into equal pieces. 8Roll each piece into a smooth round ball. 9Place in rows in prepared pan. 10Cover and let rise for 1 hour; until doubled. 11Heat oven to 375*. 12Bake until golden brown, about 17 minutes, internal temp is 195 degrees
