  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 can (14-1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes undrained
  • 1 can (15 ounces) pinto beans rinsed and drained
  • 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 envelope chili seasoning
  • 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1-1/2 to 2 cups water
  • shredded cheddar cheese sour cream, chopped green onions and/or hot pepper slices, optional

Directions In a large saucepan, cook the beef, pork, onion and green pepper over medium heat until meat is no longer pink and vegetables are tender; drain. Add the water, tomato sauce, beans, tomatoes, chili seasoning and garlic salt. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, until heated through. Serve with cheese, sour cream, green onions and/or hot peppers if desired. Yield: 8-10 servings.
