  • 2 large onion chopped
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 2 pinch red pepper flakes
  • 2 cloves garlic pressed
  • 1 pound ground beef or mixture
  • 2 can (16 oz) tomatoes crushed
  • 16 fluid oz water
  • 2 cups white wine dry- i have used red

Heat olive oil in deep pot. Add onions, cook ,stirring , until translucent, then add garlic and salt, cook for a min. Add meat and cookuntil it loses its redness. Add tomatoes and paste. Add water and wine. Add seasonings, stir, and simmer for 30 min, Add mushrooms and simmer at least one hour more, but longer is better. Adjust seasoning.
