Whea flour almond halwa is mostly eated in winters to keep our body warm. It goes well in breakfast and also as a desert after meals. This has been my favourite since my childhood and I still enjoy it a lot. It is very easy and includes simple ingredients which are availaible at homes everytime. I thought this would be a great recipe to share now as it's an winter season. Hope you will try this out and let me know how it turns out for you..

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup wheat flour(atta)
  • 1 1/2 cup jaggery
  • 1 tbsp cardamom powder
  • 3/4 cup ghee
  • 5-6 almonds (soaked for 4-5 hours)

Firstly make the jaggery water . Take a pan add 3cups of water and jaggery in it and let it comes to boil until all the jaggery gets dissolve. Turn off the stove and let it cool. Peal all the Almonds and crush 4-5 Almonds. Put the ghee in a pan and set the flame as medium high. Add the crushed almonds and stir for 1 min. Add the Wheat flour and stir continously till the color of the flour changes to golden brown and you are able to smell the aroma of roasted wheat. It will also release ghee . Now Add jaggery water and turn the flame to high. Stir vigorously so that no lumps are formed. You will see all the water is absorbed by flour . Stir for few minutes to get the consistency of halwa. Add cardamom and mix well. Halwa is prepared. Garnish with leftover Almonds and serve it.
