This is the spice/seasoning mix I use for making chili. It has everything in it that I need when making chili, use to taste. I will post the actual Chili recipe next time I make it. I have never written it down. You can adjust to taste as it cooks.,

  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 tablespoon dried minced onion
  • 2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 8 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1/2 to 1 tablespoon ground red pepper or double amount if red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon dried minced garlic or additional 1/2 tbl garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoond freshly ground pepper

Mix well in a bowl or jar. Store in airtight container. I use 7 to 8 tablespoons for a full, large slow cooker. Add less and add more later if needed. I will add my full Chili recipe using this blend soon.
