My husband concocted this variant on the "penicillin cocktail." It's a little more complicated than I usually like, but the combination of flavors is warming and richer than the usual lemon toddy.

  • 1/2 oz honey liqueur drambuie
  • 1/2 oz ginger liqueur domaine de canton
  • 1/2 oz lemon juice

  • 1/4 oz any peaty or smokey whiskey or liqueur townsend's smoke tea liqueur*

Shake rye, honey liqueur, ginger liqueur, lemon juice, and allspice dram with ice. Strain and pour over a large ice cube in a cocktail glass. Garnish with whiskey-soaked lemon slice. Experiment with your favorite brands! *You can include or discard the excess Smoke Tea liqueur, to taste.
