Puncture sweet potato with fork to allow steam to escape. Nuke until potato is done using the 'potato' option if microwave has it; otherwise, will take about 8 minutes on high--test with a fork. Split potato in half lengthwise to make 2 servings (or just place 2 smaller potatoes on the serving plates and let each deal with their own). Add butter, brown sugar, maple syrup, salt, pepper, etc. per individual preference.
