MISE EN PLACE: Chop onion; Cube bacon; Mince garlic; Bring milk to room temperature 1) Saute onion in a large pan in oil. Stir in bacon and garlic and saute a few minutes more. If dry, add hot water until the consistency is a formable mass. Let sit, covered, for 30 minutes. 3) Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Form dumplings with wet hands and steep 15 minutes.
