If you have a rice cooker, the only thing you need to worry about is the ratio between water and rice. With Nikko-Calrose rice, which is a rice I prefer, it''s easy. Water equals slightly less than two times the volume of rice you''re cooking. Specifically, for 1 cup of rice, use about 1 3/4 cups of water. I simply double the rice volume and back it off a little. Put rice in the cooker; add water. Set the switch on and come back 25 mins later for perfect rice. (Be sure to let the rice rest for 5 mins after steaming/boiling.)
